What is the Alexander Technique?
The Alexander Technique is a movement education method that teaches individuals to become more aware of their posture and movement habits, and to change those habits for more efficient and coordinated movement. It focuses on retraining the body and mind to work together, promoting better posture, coordination, and ease of movement.
Recent research highlights the significant impact of posture on health, both physically and mentally. Poor posture, characterized by slouching or misalignment, can lead to a range of issues, including musculoskeletal problems including leg pain, joint pain, back and neck pain. Poor posture can impact digestive issues, respiratory problems, and even mental health challenges like increased stress and anxiety.
Conversely, good posture offers benefits like improved coordination, circulation, better balance, more confidence and increased energy.
